Pink Bag

Last Saturday was Andrea's birthday! We went out to a Belgian restaurant nearby to celebrate. It was the first time we'd had the whole crew together. Even Sam, Tricia and Greg came out. Sadly it doubled as Eva's goodbye dinner because she left Sunday morning.

Speaking of Sunday morning! Lesley, Rachel, Nina and I went out to give alms again. I must say, I really love doing it. It gives me this happy feeling all day. I also didn't run out of food this time so all the younger novices at the back got some too. I'm hoping to do it one more time before I leave, once for each month I'm here.

Since I forgot to post something on my sixth week I suppose I'll mention this now. This weekend I will only have four more weeks left. Yes, its an entire month but a month goes by so fast. It feels a lot shorter than it really is. I'm not ready to think about leaving. I'm feeling really settled now, I've got my classes, my routine and lots of people who I haven't actually met who recognize me. I can see why so many people come here and then decide to stay. There's just something about Luang Prabang. For a while I felt like I would be ready to go home but now that I've been here so long I realize how much I'll miss the novices. Going down the street just won't be the same when there are no orange robes and umbrellas.
