Arrival in laos!

I arrived in Laos yesterday afternoon but exhaustion kept me from doing anything to exciting. I mainly had orientation and met the other volunteers. It rained last night but today is absolutely gorgeous. In the sun it's a bit hot but there's a good breeze. The people here are very friendly and everything is very relaxed. I've only been here a day and it's already fantastic. Nothing is very fancy but thats part of what makes it so interesting. As a woman there are things like dress code that I have to think about but it's pretty minor.All the good stuff totally makes up for it. I'm posting this from a small tea place near the guesthouse. I got a hibiscus iced tea and it's super good. Anything tea or fruit related here is delicious. I got a smoothie last night that was made with lime, honey, mint and coconut milk; it was very tasty. Breakfast this morning was just a baguette with jam and a cup of Ovaltine. Very simple, but good after lots of traveling craziness.
